Braking resistors equipped with a thermal switch must use this switch to cut off the mains contactor upon overheating detection. If using a third-party resistor, conduct a risk assessment (EN ISO 12100) and use thermal monitoring to switch off the mains contactor and/or the braking resistor itself.
